Michael Curtis Broughton began his professional journey with honorable service in the United States Army, where he developed foundational leadership skills while mentoring junior service members and overseeing team welfare. Over time, he transitioned into commissioned leadership roles, where he quickly distinguished himself through technical proficiency and mission-focused execution.
Promoted to platoon leadership, lieutenant Broughton commanded logistics and fuel distribution operations under extreme Arctic conditions. He achieved significant improvements in operational readiness, introduced innovative fuel transfer systems such as “Fat-Cow” aerial refueling, and led interagency collaborations during wildfire suppression missions.
Parallel to his military career, he pursued an extensive academic path, earning multiple master’s degrees in Industrial Management, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Industrial Distribution, and Transportation & Logistics from Northern Illinois University, Texas A&M University, and the American Military University.
